Maiden speech, 19 December 2024
In her first speech in the House, she sought the closure of ready-mix concrete plants in Deonar that she said stood less than 100 metres from homes in Govandi East, in breach of pollution norms. Within days, the BMC ordered the JSW plant shut and served a compliance notice on Relcon.

Sana Malik Shaikh is the MLA of Anushakti Nagar (AC 172), Mumbai. She was elected in November 2024 as the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate with 49,341 votes and is the first woman to hold the seat.
She defeated Fahad Ahmad of the NCP (Sharad Pawar) by 3,378 votes in the Anushakti Nagar Assembly election of November 2024, polling 49,341 votes.
She belongs to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Before her election she served as the party's State Spokesperson and as Vice-President of the Rashtrawadi Yuvati Congress in Maharashtra.
